Tweet Nothings Book Box~Tresors De Luxe

Welcome to Wednesday and to my last Design Team Reveal of the month for Tresors De LuxeI had pinned a sweet little Robin image from a free printable board on Pinterest and wanted to use it to create an altered book box with, so I teamed it with Tresors laces, and embellishments to create the time worn Shabby look that is so dear to my heart.

I started by coating the whole box in gesso, then stained the box using walnut stain. I then layered on a bottom layer of deeply distressed and inked Prima paper, then I tore out pages from this book that I found that had this gorgeous pink type set and parchment pages, Mod Podged them together, then stacked layers of them onto the top of the box.

I then layered in Tresors Laces:

White Lace Trim LA-105

Lace Trim Venice LA-101

And,
added on a piece of sewn burlap, and then deeply distressed and inked the image and added it on.

The flowers are stash mulberry paper flowers that I inked the edges on, and then surrounded a Tresors:

Rustic Green Shabby Chic Flower Embellishment FL-095

along with a little Bird's nest and a rhinestone button to create a colorful focal point.

The Shabby Pink Roses Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

I then ran Tresors:

Lace Trim Embroidered LA-165

down the binding side.

Here you can see all the technique work I did to create the look of "Pages" and the gorgeous dimension and texture the laces and embellishments create.

Back Side View

On the inside of the box, on the left side, I used more of those torn and inked book pages and some more distressed and inked Prima paper, and on the right side I added some Tresors:

Lace Trim Venice Lace LA-102

and a real bird's nest with little hand crafted clay eggs tucked inside. I have an obsession with real nests. I love to hike daily and hit different trail heads around Chattanooga, along the way, I love to collect little natural treasures, with bird's nests being my FAVS. I collect them in the Winter, long after the bird's have left them behind, and bring them home to use in my decor, and art projects.

Well, here is to a FABulous finish to the week!! If you would like to add some of those Tresor Touches to your projects, don't forget to use the code Renea10 when you check out to receive 10% off your order total :) Thanks so much! Hugs ~Renea

Follow Your Heart~Tresors De Luxe

Hello and welcome to my blog!! Today, I have a layout to share with you that I created as a Design Team project for the Tresors De Luxe Etsy Shop, and using the Scraps Of Elegance February Kit~Love Always.
I have combined some of my favorite things together to create a layout with a Shabby meets rustic look. The photo that I used is by photograper Alexey Rysich and it is a share photo at the following Facebook Page:

I started with that so yummy wood  look paper from the kit,  cut random spots into fringe then rolled them and gesoo painted the rolls for softness, then tucked in gesso painted and inked corrugated board pieces and pieces of Tresors:

Lace Trim Embroidered Lace LA-165

I then layered on a Tresors:

Ivory Vintage Handmade Cotton Crochet Doily DL-004

One of the My Mind's Eye Pockets from the SOE kit, some more inked and gesso painted corrugated board, and some deeply distressed and inked paper, then added my photo on.

At the edge of my photo , I tore tissue paper and Mod Podged it in layers, underneath the photo, then tucked in two MME pieces from the SOE Kit.

I then took some Tresors:

Ivory Italian Embroidered Lace LA-162

and pulled the interwoven ribbon at both ends so that the lace would pucker and ran it across the bottom of the photo in a wave pattern, and then added some burlap fringe, little pearl head pins, and some
Tresors:

Pack of 24 Light Pink Fabric Shabby Chic Roses PF-017

At the corner of the photo I created a large floral piece by taking Tresors:

Pack of 24 Light Pink Fabric Shabby Chic Roses PF-017

and a misted
some cheesecloth, leaves from the SOE Floral Add On, and some more of the MME Stickers from the Embellishment Add On.

To create the heart I used a Leaky Shed Chipboard Heart from the Scraps Of Elegance kit, inked it, and while the ink was still wet, covered it with Mod Podge and covered it with Tresors:

Lace Trim Embroidered Lace LA-165

Leaving the ink wet alllowed the lace to soak up some of the color for a gorgeous Vintage look. I then cut the lace dwon to the heart edges, added a "Follow Your Heart" Sentiment Sticker and tucked in some more of the pearl head pins.
I then added more cheesecloth and leaves and another misted Tresors:
and

Pack of 24 Light Pink Fabric Shabby Chic Roses PF-017

At the corner of my photo, I added on a twine bow and another Tresors:

Pack of 24 Light Pink Fabric Shabby Chic Roses PF-017

The Salted Caramel Glitter Glass Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

Here you can see al the dimension and the layering.

Inkido February Challenge~Sweethearts

Have you seen the Inkido February Challenge yet?? It is so delcious!!! The following is the inspirational photo and the topic is "Sweetheart". YUMMO!!

I took my cue from all those delicious pinks, and strawberries, as well as the frosting and whites to create a super romantic layout that features a photo of my sweet, Aussie scrappy friend Kelly Ralstons Mum & Dad.
Kelly's parents married young and will be celebrating their 40th year Anniversary. Kelly wanted me to create something special for them, so I put together an elegant with hints of natural elements layout that would reflect their love and dedication to one another. After 40 years of marriage, I can't help but think that they definitely fit the category of "Sweethearts"!

I started with 2 different layers of Inkido Papers, distressing and sewing the edges of the 2nd layer. I then cut down a 3rd layer, punched around it, and then deeply water distressed it to create a "wrinkled" look, then topped it with some of my stash Tresors De Luxe wide lace. I tucked large paper Doillie pieces under the punched layere, and then distressed, inked and sewed 2 more layers to form a matte under the wonderful photo. I then tore out some Inkido paper pieces sewed and painted them with Gesso and added them randomly to the layout.

I formed a side layer, by fussy cutting out the sweet birds on a cherry blossom branch from the Inkido papers, and then accented them with glitter.

I then used a Inkido gardenia, cherry blossum and mulberry paper flower that I misted to match my colors, and then stippled them with gesso to soften them up.

I added in a stash Tresors fabric flower embellishment, a little lock and key, a nest with 5 eggs, representing their five children, and some feathers.

ON the opposite side I added some more little fussy cut birds, some of the gorgeous Inkido Pink Harmony Flowers,  another gardenia, cherry blossom and mulberry rose, some cheesecloth and leaves.

A close up of those gorgeous Inkido Flowers!!

And here is a side view showing off all the dimension and texture, I captured with those wonderful Inkido Products.

Thank you for dropping in for my February Inkido Reveal!! I hope you get a chance to join us for the challenge!! Hugs ~Renea

We thank you all so much for taking the time
to join this hop and hope that you'll be provided with
a ton of incredible inspiration and lots of fun!
We would also just LOVE for you to create
a project using our sketch so if you do
make sure to come back and share that with us!
Happy Hopping friends!

Now for my take on the sketch! I actually have two different takes. One using the Scraps Of Darkness Kit and one using the Scraps Of Elegance Kit.

This first one is my take using the Scraps of Darkness Kit:

It features a photo that I took of one of my favorite places~the lake where I live. I am an avid hiker and I head out every morning for at least 45 minutes. I am so fortunate to live where I can step out my door and in about 2 minutes be down at this gorgeous place and then into the woods. I actually live in a subdivision, but it is surr ounded by 2 different lakes and lots of hiking trails and woods that conserve the Chickamauga Creek a natural feeding creed for the Tennessee River.  I used the SOUS sketch along with the kit to create a rustic, Wintery feel.

This next layout was created with the SOUS sketch and the Scraps Of Elegance Kit.

It features a sweet photo of my son, Draven when he was about 3 years old, and I used the sketch, kit and a pair of his Daddy's old jeans to create a wonderful masculine look.

Thanks for hopping by on your way through the blog hop!!
Now head on over to Nanne Harry's  Nanne's Creations Blog, and have fun!! Hugs~Renea
