Vintage Christmas Nook Book Box~

The Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~Sweet Sentiments was packed full of such beautiful, Vintage look elements that I just couldn't resist doing a Vintage Christmas Themed Nook Book Box.

I started with one of my paper mache nook book boxes and coated it in Gesso to create a protective finish, then got busy with layers of the kit papers. The oval frame is a die cut and the little Vintage Image came from Magic Moonlight Studio.

I edged distessed the papers and then inked them with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink . I then painted the edges with Prima White Sand Texture Paste, then dipped the edges in a mixture of Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass In Diamond, and Reneabouquets Silver Microbeads to create a FABulously beautiful Winter Texture. I then took the Frosted Sheets from the SOE Embellishment Add On, ran them through a snowflake die and then inked the them and dipped them in the glitter glass and microbead mixture and topped them with a crystal, and I just love the Winterlicious look they created!!

For flowers I added, some Texture Roses from my Reneabouquets Etsy and Reneabouquets Store, some hand dyed seam binding and a little silver, metal jinglebell. The butterflies are the Tiny Treasures Oh So Pinkalicious Butterflies from my shops.

I covered the back side in the matching underside of the kit paper.

I covered the binding side in some beautiful lace trim.

The "page" sides were painted with Prima Platinum Crackle Texture Paste. The closure system is one of the metal bobbins from the Reneabouquets Sewing Trinkets topped with a Divalicious Rhinestone Button that allows the closure ribbon to be wound around the bobbin.

On the inside of the box, I created sweet little nooks filled with Vintage Christmas reminders.

This page was covered in some old lace panel, then I added a distressed and inked Vintage Image also from Magic Moonlight Studio.

Then I tucked in some little treasures in the nooks, like the Vintage Santa Image that I created Digitally from some layers of old Vintage Images and a mulberry paper rose, a sweet little Tim Holtz Mini Bottle Brush Wreath that I decorated with crystals, hand dyed seam binding and a tiny little jingle bell. The bottom nook has some Shabby Dream Pink Crochet Lace, a Tim Holtz Ornate Book Plate that I stipple painted with Ranger Texture Paste  and then added a little bottle brush tree that I dyed last year and then sprinkled with Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass In Diamond, and then fussy cut out the little fairy-angel from the papers and glitter paint accented her.

As the Holidays slide close, I know it is hard to find the time to create, but I hope that you find the time to create just a few special pieces straight from your heart. Thank you for stopping by to check out one of mine! Hugs ~Renea

So Sentimental Pocket Journal

Today, I have a Vintage look Pocket Journal that I created using the Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~ Sweet Sentiments. I used a Vintage photo that I did lots of digital cleaning up on and color work on.

I cut down some of the kit paper and formed a large 6 x 8 pocket, ran some Crochet Lace down the top edge of the pocket, and some Crochet Lace  across the bottom. I then layered on more layers of distressed and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo inked pieces and the Doily crochet piece that was in one of the Prima flower packs from this month's Floral Add On, and then added my photo that I also distressed and inked the edges on.

I added a hand crafted Fairy Magic Die Cut from my Reneabouquets Etsy and Reneabouquets.com Store.

I added on stash mulberry paper flowers and a Prima Manhatten Flower at the bottom corner of the photo, added a little Silver Spoon underneath the photo and popped on some of my handcrafted Tiny Treasures Fairy Dust Butterflies.

I formed 5-double sided pull outs by fussy cutting out some of the journaling spot pieces from the kit and adding on hand dyed seam binding, mini roses, buttons and some of the lace and one of the Brads,  from the kit for lots of journaling and photo spots to collect some of those Sentimental pieces that we all have in.

I hope you have a wonderful week, and as always, I am so grateful that you took the time to drop by!! Hugs ~Renea

Creating a Priceless Moment With The Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~Sweet Sentiments

Today, I have a layout that I created with the Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~Sweet Sentiments. It features a photo of our Nephew Zachary when he was little, kissing Draven's check while he was sleeping in his carrier. Just one of those sweet, simple moments that my husband David happened to capture. They are both now all grown up and off making lives of their own, but they will always be forever young in my heart.

This kit has some really gorgeous papers in it and I used a bottom layer piece then took a 2nd layer and distressed it then punched it randomly with a note book punch and then tore pieces of some stash music note tissue tape and applied it to the edges.  I then did some random painting  and stippling with some Dina Wakley Gesso, and then went over it randomly with some butterscotch paint from my stash.

I then layered in more paper that I distressed and punched and fussy cut some pieces from some of the paper and then layered my photo onto the top.

I fussy cut the clock and flower piece from the papers and layered it over the edge of my photo with foam tape for lots of dimension. I then added on some Topaz Prima Winthrop Flowers, some Prima Manhatten flowers, and some past kit flowers that I texture painted. I then tucked in some twine bows made from the twine that was in this month's Embellishment add on and tucked it and cheesecloth into the flowers.
The Resin Frame and Owl are Reneabouquets Trinket pieces that you can find in my Reneabouquets Etsy, and Reneabouquets.com Store

I added more flowers, including the large yellow one that was from this month's Floral Add On, and tucked in more twine, cheesecloth and a Prima piece from my stash. The title was created by winding more of the twine around the brads in the kit and then tucking a fussy cut from the paper sentiment into the twine wraps.

The Moths with the light bulb bodies were created by taking a Stamp And Add Moth Wings Stamp, and stamping the Tim Holtz Frosted Sheets from the Embellishment Add On using Stayz On Ink, fussy cutting them out,  and then apply the metal bulb from the stamp set onto the wings and attatching them to the layout with foam tape for dimension.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! That baby boy that is now grown up, Draven, is coming home for the weekend, and I will be so happy to see him!!! He may be out and creating a new life of his own, but he will always be my baby!!! Hugs ~Renea

Sweet Memories Layout~Created with the Scraps Of Elegance November Kit-Sweet Sentiments & Mood Board

Pinks, soft teals, and buttercream yellows mixed with white and hints of black, ooooohhhhh the stuff that sweet dreams and the November Scraps Of Elegance Kit are made of!!
So perfect for capturing those sweet moment and sentimental memories.
Pair the kit with this month's Scraps Of Darkness/Scraps of Elegance Mood Board that you can find here:

and you get inpiration of the SWEETEST kind!!

I used those divine pinks, buttercream yellows and soft teals to create the following layout of my God-daughter Michelle with her son Mason on her wedding day:

I layered in some of the kit paper, then took a 2nd piece and punched around the edges. I then water distressed the punching to give my layout dimension and a really soft look. I then inked up a paper Doily with some paste kit Ingvild Bolme ink, distressed, and inked the edges of another kit paper piece and then layered on my photo.

I created floral layers around my photo using;
Yellow flowers from this month's Floral Add On, some small pink roses from my stash,

and some Prima Noble Flowers, that I tucked in some stash leaves that I tipped with Dina Wakley Gesso, some of the Resin Swirls from this month's Embellishment Add On that I inked with Tim Holtz Bundled Sage Ink.

The bricks were in a past SOE kit and I stipple painted them with Dina Wakley Gesso, and then frosted the "bricks" with some of my Reneabouquets Pink Chunky Glitter Glass
I then created texture by wrapping some of the twine from the Ephemera pack in the kit and tucking that into the flowers. I added in a set of my Reneabouquets Cherub Die Cuts,

did some stamping around the bricks with the stamp that was in the kit and then dripped some of the gesso and added Reneabouquets Pink Chunky Glitter Glass and Reneabouquet Silver Microbeads to the drips for lots of texture and visual interest.

The chipboard piece was from the kit and I painted it white with Gesso, then took the stamp from the kit and stamped it in black and then added on a rhinestone button that I had saved from a jacket to upcycle. The Divine Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy and Reneabouquets.com Store.

I hope you get a chance to come over the Scraps Of Darkness/ Scraps Of Elegance Facebook Community page and play along with the Mood Board this month. You do not have to be a kit member to play along with our fun challenges, and it is always so much fun!! Hugs~Renea
