Prima Mixed Media Canvas Mini Album~

The Scraps Of Elegance October Kit~Tiffany's Style contained lots of the Prima Royal Menagerie Line and that line definitely has a Mixed Media Vibe to it so I decided to create a Mixed Media Mini Album that shows off that side of the kit!

I then took the Lavender Glitter that was in the kit and went around the edging of the album. I then went back in with Reneabouquets Chunky Teal Glitter Glass, and  Silver Microbeads to add in a contrasting color and texture.

I painted a piece of the Blue Fern Chipboard from this month's Elements Add On with Prima White Crackle Texture Paste, let that dry, then painted over the crackle randomly with some Lindy's Magicals that came in a past kit, and added more of the RB Glitter Glass and Silver Microbeads.

I took some of the kit paper, distressed the edges and added it to the cover, cut out the "There are so many beautiufl reasons to be Happy" quote, rolled the edges and then added some purple rope that my scrappy sister Phyllis Fernandez had gifted me.

At the top corner, I added some cheesecloth, some Prima flowers from the kit and this month's Floral Add on, and dry brushed some of the Lindy's onto one of the Prima Resin Shells from the Elements Add On.

I added more of the same to the bottom corner.

Page One:
I distessed and inked some of the kit paper with Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves Distress Ink, die cut one of the journaling cards from the EAO, added some Butterfly Lace, a  Reneabouquets Mini Teal Texture Rose, a Camellia Teal Flower, and one of the Prima flowers from the FAO.

In between each set of pages, I used the clear pockets from the album. There is a total of  4 of these clear pockets and they are perfect for sliding photos into, or small memorabilia and journling pieces.

Page Two:
I covered one of the canvas pages that come with the album with kit paper and ran some of the twine down the side. I then took a canvas page, misted it with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Spray Stain then stenciled it with a Prima Stencil and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stain,  tied hand died seam binding through the page holes and then turned it into a pocket to house 7 of the double sided journaling cards and used a clip to hold them together.

Here is a shot of all the journaling cards.

Page 3:
I layered some of the kit paper ontot the canvas page, then cut a gate fold, and used some of my Book Latches to form a closure system.

You can unlatch the closure system and open it up for lots of space to put photos or journaling.

Page 4:
I misted one of the canvas pages with the same Prima stencil and the Peacock Distress Spray Stain. I then created a pocket out of the kit paper, added a piece of the Blue Fern Chipboard with the same painting and techniques as the front piece, popped on one of the sweet Prima paper clips from the kit, then created 2 double side tags from some of the journaling cards, seam binidng and flowers from the FAO.

Here are the tags untucked.

Page 5:
I covered the page with kit paper, inked and ran some Delicate Beauty Lace  down the side, and ran some more of the rope along the top and bottom edgets. I added a Prima Resin Swirl, and created 2 grunged up corrugated board photo spots, and added flowers for to the corners.

Page 6:
This page features another kit paper pocket, another little paper clip from the kit, a Prima Metal Clock Face with Prima Metal Clock Hands and topped with one of the Pearls fromt he kit. I created 2 double sided tags by taking the Prima tags from the kit, distressing and inking them, then misting them with Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves Distress Spray Stain, and some clear shimmer my IRL friend Tracy Mercer gave me  and then topping them with hand dyed seam binding bows and Reneabouquets Mini Teal Texture Roses, and then tucked in one of the journaling cards that I distressed and inked.

Here you can see those pieces untucked.

Page 7:
More kit paper topped with an inked Doily piece and a flower from the FAO.

Page 8:

Another page with kit paper, a die cut spot, butterfly lace, cheesecloth, Camillia flower, Prima flower from the FAO, and mini texture rose. The "love with all your heart" quote was cut from the kit papers.

I then binded all the pages together with the hand dyed seam binding, pulled it through the binding, and tied bows, then tied more rope, and teal binding to those pieces and added a glass, corked vile of my Reneabouquets Chunky Teal Glitter Glass, topped it with one of the mini texture roses and a "dream" sentiment cut from the kit paper.

Here you can see all my Chunky Layers and how the mini ties closed with hand dyes seam binding.

Here is a shot of the backside.

OK, I am now exhausted!! Those mini albums are a lot of work and going through all the details is just as extensive!! I hope you have enjoyed my complete walk through of my Mini Mixed Media piece of art!! I hope you have a wonderful week!! Hugs ~Renea

A Little Halloween Magic With The Scrap Of Elegance October Kit~

When I got the October Scraps Of Elegance~Tiffany's Style Kit and saw the Polka Dotted Paper and chartreuse colored FabScraps Paper, I immediately thought, I so want to do a Halloween Project!! Then I saw the wooden shaped piece and thought, yes, I'll make a Banner with one of my little Vintage Witches!
So, I took one of my digitally altered Witches, gave her a glitter painted hat, and fussy cut her out.

I took the wooden banner, traced it onto the polka dot paper from the kit, cut 2 sets of  it out, distressed the edges, and inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink In Spiced Marmalade, and glued it to both sides.

I then cut out a square of the kit paper, distressed the edges then stencile it with the stencil from the kit and some black puff paint, then heat it up to add dimenstion, and added my image.

I ran some Crochet Lace across the bottom and topped it with some black lace I had left over from a past kit. Next, I added a Black Chiffon Flower, some flowers from the kit and this month's floral add on and some stash feathers, bottle cap with little owl piece, and a "The Witching Hour" piece.

I had some little potion bottle stickers from a past Scraps Of Darkness Kit and I added a little glass vile to the top of those. The spider webbing is just some cheesecloth, and the spiders are just those fun, cheap plastic spiders we all have lying around at Halloween topped with some of the Chartreuse Pearls from the Kit.

I took two Time Piece trinkets from my Reneabouquets Shops and added those, threading hand dyed seam binding through the loops and creating a handle to hang my banner from.

I love Halloween fun projects, and this example shows you how you can take the October Kit and make it fit your Halloween Project needs. I hope you have fun creating your own Boo~tiful projects!! Hugs ~Renea

Her Style~

Scraps Of Elegance has revealed it's Oh So Yummy October Kit~Tiffany's Style, and it along with all of the monthly Add Ons, disappeared like they were going out of style. I am so glad that along with what I get for my DT package that I am also permanent on some of the Add Ons. A Monthly Subscription is definitely the way to go if you don't ever want to miss out on the fun!!

For my 1st project with the kit, I created a layout that features a selfie of my niece Haley! Haley has a country chic style and some of the elements of this kit were perfect for her photo.

I loved the wood grain paper that was in this month's paper add on, and layered it over a second sheet of the same paper using the backside of the  pattern. I distressed the edges and did some paper curling at the bottom and created some torn peek a boos to expose the paper underneath.

Here you can see how the paper curling adds interest and dimension to the layout. I love paper curling, I think it is one of my FAV techniques of all time!!

I then took some Dina Wakley Gesso and dry brushed it over the area just outside my photo layers.

I then took the stamp from the kit, some Tim Holtz Distress Tea Dye Ink and did some subtle stamping which is a wonderful way to add depth to your projects.

I added corrugated board that I painted with Gesso and Inked, another layer of paper and one of the Prima Tags that I distressed inked with the Tea Dye Ink, added a twine bow to and topped with a Teal Mini Texture Roses, a Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass frosted Camellia Teal Flower and a Prima Flower from this month's Floral Add On.

At the bottom where I paper curled, I added some Delicate Flower Embroidered Lace that I ran the long pins with the crystal heads through and rouched, then tied some rope bows and added those to so that the pin heads showed.

The flower layer at the bottom corner was created with a past kit burlap flower, a flower from the Kit, a flower from the FAO, another rope bow with mini texture rose topper, and then I popped a sweet
Prima Large Resin Owl into in keeping with my more natural theme of the layout.

The set of two, Sweetheart Teal Butterflies are some of my handcrafted butterflies and were created to go with this month's kit.

I can't wait to get to play with this kit some more!! I already know what I am doing for my next project, and I just wish the yard work was finished so that I had more time to play!! Oh how dare that real world get in the way of my scrappy time-LOL!! I am sure you can relate, so thanks for taking some of your time to visit me!! Hugs ~Renea

Peace & Harmony~

Today, I have my last project created with the Scraps Of Elegance Lisa's Sweet September Kit.
I created a layout that pulled those beautiful Autumn Plums and Greens from the Kit, using one of Maddie's Senior Pics.
This Kit is Sold Out, but you can grab a monthly subscription to our kit club that assures that you get a kit, along with any of the other monthly Add Ons that you reserve.

I layered in kit paper, randomly punching, distressing, and inking the top layer.

I then created an under layer by cutting down some of the kit paper and then cutting and curling the edges, for dimension.

I absolutely love corrugated board, and here I used a layer of some that I tore, inked heavily with

Seedless Preserves Tim Holtz Distress Ink , and then edged it with  Dark Purple  Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass mixed with Silver Reneabouquets Glass Microbeads , as a matte for my photo.

I created floral layers around the photo using, past kit flowers, flowers from the Kit,

Reneabouquets Mini Textured Roses in Purple, and in this one I tucked in one of the sweet Melissa Frances Frames, and some of the Prima twine from the Kit.

I created a rolled back peek a boo and added some Blue Fern Chipboard Bricks from a past kit that I painted with Gesso, then painted the brick with Prima White Sand Texture Paste and then coated it with

At the top of the peek a boo, I added a hand dyed seam binding bow that was created by misting seam binding with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Seedless Preserves, and then topped it with one of the G45 Metal Locks from the September Elements Add On

The misting was done using the Rebecca Baer Stencil - Moroccan Tile from the September Elements Add On and the Seedless Preserves Spray Stain. Melinda has quite a few of these really unique Rebecca Baer Stencils that you can find here:

I hope you have enjoyed my work with the September, Scraps Of Elegance Kit! I do believe the new October Kit will be shipping soon and can't wait to get my box of goodies and get to play with it!! I hope you have a great weekend! My son is coming in this weekend, so I am sure mine will be packed full of good eating and hanging out with him and my husband. Hugs ~ Renea
